Terms and conditions

The agreement between you and PIL Mobi for the PIL Mobi SEO Suite. Last updated 4 November 2026.

1About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you (the business that registers, and the person who registers it) and PIL Mobi (“we”, “us”). They apply when you register for, sign in to or use the PIL Mobi SEO Suite at pilmobi.com/SEO, including the installed app. By ticking the box when you register, or by using the service, you accept these terms and our privacy policy.

If you are using the service for a business, you confirm that you may accept these terms on its behalf.

2The service

The PIL Mobi SEO Suite checks websites against published search-engine guidelines (such as Google Search Essentials and Bing Webmaster Guidelines) and gives you a score, a list of problems, suggested fixes, comparisons with competitors and downloadable reports. Your subscription also includes:

  • NetWatch — monitors your internet connection from your browser and keeps a history of drop-outs and slow periods;
  • Device Health — reports on the device you use and, where your browser allows it, scans a folder you choose for junk, duplicate, very large and long-unused files, and helps you clean them up.

We may add, improve or remove features over time. We will not remove a main feature you pay for without telling you first.

3Your account

  • Give us correct details when you register and keep them up to date on My details.
  • Keep your password secret. You are responsible for what is done with your account. Tell us straight away at support@pilmobi.com if you think someone else has used it.
  • One subscription covers one business. Ask us if you need access for more businesses or staff.

4Websites you check

You may fully check websites that you own or that you are authorised to manage. To check a whole website you must verify that it is yours (for example with a file or meta tag we give you). Websites you have not verified, including competitors, are checked in research mode, which reads only public pages, follows the website's robots.txt rules and pauses between pages so it does not overload anyone's server.

You must not use the service to check websites in a way that breaks the law, the website owner's terms, or that could harm the website. We may slow down, stop or refuse any crawl to protect our servers or other websites.

5Subscription and payment

  • PIL SEO ONLY costs R 150.00 a month, or the price shown when you subscribe. Prices are in South African rand.
  • The first month is paid when you subscribe. After that PayStack charges your card automatically on the same date every month until you cancel.
  • Card payments are processed by PayStack. Your card details are held by PayStack and are never stored by us.
  • If a monthly payment fails, PayStack may try again. Access continues for 7 days after the paid month ends, after which the SEO Suite is paused until payment is received. Your websites and reports are kept while it is paused.
  • We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice by email. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the new price applies.
  • If you already pay for Shophook SEO on your own domain, the SEO Suite is included in that payment and these payment terms do not apply to you separately.

6Cancelling

You can cancel at any time on My details > Subscription, or by emailing support@pilmobi.com. Cancelling stops all future payments. You keep access until the end of the month you have already paid for. Except where the law requires otherwise, we do not refund part-months.

If you are a consumer as defined in the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, you may cancel within seven days after subscribing and receive a refund of the amount paid, less the direct cost of returning the payment. Email us to do this.

After an account is closed we keep your data for the periods set out in the privacy policy, and then delete it.

7NetWatch and Device Health

NetWatch measures your connection while the NetWatch page is open in your browser. Results depend on your device, browser, network and our server, and are a guide only.

Device Health runs inside your browser on your own device. It only reads a folder after you choose it and give permission, and it only moves or deletes files after you select them and confirm. Files are first moved to a PIL Cleanup folder inside the folder you chose, so you can check them before deleting them for good. Browsers do not allow websites to clean system files, other apps or memory; where that is needed Device Health shows the steps to do it yourself.

PIL PC Clean is a Windows program you may download and run on your own PC with administrator rights. It only removes files, changes start-up settings, closes programs or runs Windows' repair tools when you choose to and confirm. We recommend creating a restore point first (a button is provided). It does not send information about your PC to us.

You are responsible for deciding which files to remove and for keeping backups of anything important. We are not responsible for the loss of files you choose to move or delete.

8Spam Detective

Spam Detective lets you report unwanted calls, SMSes, emails and websites, see how many other people reported the same number or address, send an opt-out demand and prepare a complaint for the authorities.

  • Only report what really happened. Every report must be true to the best of your knowledge. False, malicious or competitive reports are not allowed and may lead to your reports being removed and your account being suspended.
  • You may report on behalf of another person (for example an employee or family member) only if they asked you to, and you confirm that they agree that their name and contact details are used in the opt-out letter and in their complaint.
  • Other users see the reported number or address, the totals and what was being marketed — never who reported it. A company or person is only named after enough different people reported them and we checked the reports. Anyone may use the right-of-reply link in our letters to dispute a listing; we review every reply and correct or remove listings where needed.
  • Opt-out letters are sent from our system on your behalf, with a copy to you. You are responsible for the content of your report. The legal information in Spam Detective is general information, not legal advice.
  • A reported number is not proof of who made the contact: numbers and sender names can be faked.

9Reports and advice

Scores, findings and suggestions are based on published guidelines and on what our crawler could see at the time of the check. Search engines use many signals that are not public and change them often, so we cannot promise any ranking, traffic or business result. Check any change before you make it to a live website.

10Acceptable use

You may not:

  • use the service for anything unlawful, or to attack, overload or gain access to any website or system without permission;
  • try to get around access controls, payment, limits or security of the service;
  • copy, resell or rent out the service, or reverse-engineer it, except as the law allows;
  • upload logos or other content that you do not have the right to use.

11Intellectual property

The service, its software, rulebook, design and the PIL Mobi and Shophook names and logos belong to PIL Mobi or its licensors. You may use the reports you create for your own business and for your clients. You keep all rights to your own content and logo, and allow us to use them only to provide the service to you.

12Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available and secure, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control, such as hosting, internet or load-shedding problems.

13Liability

To the extent the law allows, including the Consumer Protection Act where it applies: the service is provided as it is; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit, data or business; and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

14Suspension and closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account that is not paid, that breaks these terms, or that puts the service or others at risk. Where reasonable we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

15Privacy

We handle your personal information as set out in our privacy policy, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

16Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. We will email you about important changes at least 14 days before they apply. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you may cancel.

17Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Please contact us first so we can try to sort out any problem. If we cannot, either of us may refer the matter to a South African court with jurisdiction.
